In this chapter, we introduced you to Android 1.5. We began by showing how to download and install the new SDK along with the associated ADT plug-in. We then showed you some of the new features in the Android 1.5 SDK. Specifically, we talked about video capture and other media-related intents. We also discussed the MediaStore class and showed you how to scan your device for media. We then explored the speech-recognition engine and concluded with a brief introduction to the input-method framework.

In the next chapter, we are going to discuss changes to the OpenGL APIs and show you how to create live folders, which allow developers to expose content providers on a device's home page.
