Organize With Office 365
With Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft introduced the idea of working with documents online. You can view and edit Office files from Microsoft Office Workspace using standard web browsers and Office desktop software. You can't edit files on Android, but you can still open them using Microsoft Office Workspace on the Web at http workspace.officelive.com.
In a lot of practical uses, text messages are just like instant messages. So, if you and the recipient both have an IM client, it makes a lot of sense to just keep the conversation on IM. Android phones come with Google Talk for IM, but you can install apps to handle most other clients. Unfortunately, Microsoft Office Communicator is not yet one of them, but that may change at any time.
Note By default, the new documents you create will be in Microsoft Office 97-2004 (e.g., .doc, .xls, .ppt). You can change this to default to the MS Office 2007-2008 2010(e.g., .docx, .xlsx, .pptx) format through the Word To Go, Sheet To Go or SlideShow To Go preferences. Simply open a file in one of these apps and then go to Menu More Preferences.
Note A stencil is a drawing template that you can use to replicate a drawing many times. For example, if you are using Microsoft Office Visio, all the drawing templates that you save as *.vss files are stencils. In the noncomputer drawing world, you create a stencil by cutting out a pattern in a sheet of paper or some other flat material. Then you can paint over that sheet and remove it, creating the impression that results in a replication of that drawing.
Google Docs, at http docs.google.com, is an online competitor to Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, and the other desktop office-type applications. Google Docs lets you create spreadsheets, documents, and presentations and store them online so that you can access them anywhere. Also you can share those documents with other people using Google Docs for collaboration purposes.
