Camera Settings

You can't do much more with the camera than take pictures, but you need to know about a few controls. When the camera is active, you can press the Menu key to access two options: Pictures and Settings.

The Pictures option takes you to the pictures that you have taken and that are stored on your phone.

If you touch the Settings option, you move to the Camera settings page, shown in Figure 4.10. You can set two options on this page:

■ Store Location in Pictures—This option enables you to add location data to your pictures when you save them. The information then appears in the details about the picture.

■ Prompt After Capture—This option causes the device to prompt you to save after each picture that you take. If you want the camera to automatically save pictures to your device without being prompted, deselect the option.

Those are the only picture capabilities you have with your phone. However, when you're viewing your pictures, you have a few additional options. You can either view pictures directly from the Camera application by selecting Pictures from the menu options, or you can use the applications menu to get to your pictures by opening it and touching the Pictures icon.

How you enter the Pictures application determines what you see. If you enter from the Camera application, you see only the pictures that you've taken with the camera. If you enter through the apps menu, you see files for the Camera (pictures that you have taken), All Pictures, and Download (these are pictures you've downloaded from the Web).

If you enter from the apps menu, just touch the file that you want to open to view the pictures in that file. When you're in a file, you can also touch the individual pictures to view them separately from all the other files in that folder.

Let's step back for just a moment and look at the Pictures application. When you're viewing the available picture folders, you can press the Menu key to open options for the application. The options are Settings and Flip
